Thanks, Shelley!!! Today is my 54th Birthday and my lovely wife created this website for me as a special gift. I am truly blessed (choking back tears) and appreciative at such thoughtfulness.
Yes, I’m FIFTY-FOUR years of age today. A milestone I once thought to be ancient now seems – well, ancient!! Not really, but it all goes really fast and it only gets faster. Enjoy every moment.
Every tractor is attached to its implement for the spring planting. The seed corn, and some of the soybean seed, is in the shed. Everything is full of fuel, the service truck is loaded to handle every kind of catastrophe – all we need is a little sunshine and a couple of dry weeks and we’ll be off to the races!! Times like these the music has to wait.
I have a few notebook pages of song ideas and hope to have a few more out this summer. I have a new one that I haven’t yet performed called “Dirty Ol’ Song” that I’ll take to audience after planting season is wrapped up.
Bill (Passalacqua) Poss has been quite kind to have me at his songwriter’s open-mic at the Village Wine in Effingham, Illinois several times and last week he made me the “Featured Artist”. He is an amazing talented singer and songwriter and I am humbled and honored by his encouraging words. Thanks, Bill!!
I have been taking guitar lessons from Marty Williamson for over three years, now. I have months when I can’t go but take them when I can. He is an amazing player, a patient teacher, and a very humble man. If you are interested in guitar lessons I recommend Marty.
Marty has a nice studio northwest of Effingham, Illinois where he recorded the songs for the CD. Once recorded the music tracks were sent to Brian Stephens in Atlanta, Georgia for digitizing, then to CD Baby for production. My son, Isaac Crouch did the artwork and my wife, Shelley, with a lot of help from Lucas Fain, got the artwork downloaded for the CD jacket. Then, Shelley did all of the licensing and “pull-your-hair-out” frustrating stuff!! All in all, mine was the easiest job on the whole project – and I’m ok with that ;)
